The first month of 2014 is over and I have discovered so many great products to start of the new year. This January Favorites video is kind of a November, December & January combined favorites, since I didn’t do a favorites video since October (besides my 13 best beauty products of 2013). I was really busy in January, which is really fun, but kind of stressful at the same time. This year I started classes at a new school, and also had a ton of events including IMATS LA 2014. Between homework, finding time to sleep, and traveling to events I’ve hardly had time to sit down and film videos and write blog posts…I haven’t even painted my nails in two weeks! Sounds a bit lame, but the simple act of putting on nail polish is so relaxing! Anyways, on to the favorites:
- COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation (#825): A ton of YouTubers have been raving about this foundation in the past year or so. I used it a few times last year, but because it was too light, I brushed it aside. Lately I’ve been pulling it out and mixing it with a darker foundation to make a better match. I love how matte this makes my face (and it lasts throughout the day!), I will definitely purchase my correct shade eventually.
- Jouer Cosmetics Lipstick in Ava: During the holidays I was obsessed with this lipstick- I wore it in so many videos! This lipstick is a new take on a classic red- it has orange undertones! I feel like everyone sticks with blue undertones because they make your teeth look super white, but this blood-orange looks fabulous. I have a full review of it already with a picture of it on my lips, so check that out!
- Sephora Formula X Nail Polish in Invincible: I blogged about this a few weeks ago, but I LOVE this nail polish. This is my new holy grail nude polish. I used to hate nude nails because I always had shades that were unflattering or too sheer- but, this shade is neither of those. It is creamy & opaque and a beautiful nude shade that looks great on my nails. If you want to see a swatch- click the title!
- Epicare Facial Hair Removal Spring: I have a full review of this spring, so check it out if you’d like to know more. Basically, it’s an easy way to remove hair without using chemicals or waxing. It is so affordable and pays for itself with the amount you save spending on products to remove your facial hair! I think it’s best for peach fuzz & upper lip hair.
- Radical Skincare Instant Revitalizing Mask: This mask is a favorite because it is the most unique mask I’ve tried- it FOAMS up on your face! I have a full review of it if you want to see a photo of it on my face, but it is a great mask because it works for all skin types and is very soothing.
- Agave Healing Oil Treatment: I went to an Agave event at the end of last year and have been using this hair oil ever since. I love hair oils so it’s hard to disappoint, but I love this one because it makes my ends super smooth without being greasy. Applying on wet hair is best because it dries with your hair and you don’t have too much product in it!
- Katy Perry Killer Queen Fragrance: I asked for this scent for Christmas and I’m obsessed. It smells DIVINE- musky and a hint of sweet. It’s very sophisticated and sensual. I only dislike the fact that it doesn’t last long at all, but I layer it with Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb underneath to make it last longer. The scents are pretty similar so it works out well.
- Bath & Body Works/Slatkin & Co. Black Tie Candle: I love musky and manly scented candles lately…and this one is no exception! I just realized this isn’t available anymore, which is def a bummer 🙁
- Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Polaroid Camera in White: I have been snapping polaroid pictures non-stop after getting this. Okay, not really…because film is expensive! This is a great way to keep some memories, and the vintage look is fun. I like using the photos to decorate my room.
- Frends Taylor Headphones in White/Gold: I got these headphones for Christmas and I’m in love. I get so many compliments when I wear these, and the sound quality is great. A big step up from little ear buds!
- 9 inch Makeup Mirror by Jerdon: For the past 5 years I have been using the same tiny makeup mirror- I figured it was time for an upgrade. This mirror is HUGE. I can see my whole face at one time while applying my makeup, and I think it is so worth having for those of you who apply your makeup in tiny mirrors. It’s a 9 inch diameter, and my old one was probably 5 or 6 inches max, but it also had a light which I haven’t used in years after losing the cord. I am never going back!
