L’Oreal Voluminous Power Volume Collagen Mascara (Review, Before and After Photos)
One product that I will always get from the drugstore is mascara. Most mascara formulations are the same, the only thing different is the brush! I actually can’t remember the last time I bought a high end mascara. So, when I found this baby in my L’Oreal gift bag after their pre-Emmy suite I attended…I was smitten! My go-to mascara is Covergirl’s Lash Blast, but I usually am testing something else, because I can’t get stuck in a beauty rut! So, let’s see if this bargain passed the test!
Thee brush is your standard plastic fiber spoolie-type…but it’s bigger! I find that it helps it to grip my lashes really well, since the bristles are so close together. Since it’s a larger brush, it takes some finagling to get to my inner lashes; you can count lower lashes out, unless you like raccoon eyes! I find the brush far too large to get mascara on my bottom lashes without touching my skin, too. Let’s see it in action!
Yep, I LOVE this mascara. 1 coat is a perfect natural look with just a hint of volume, and 2 coats add a boost of curl and twice the volume. It can get clumpy over time, so be wary. I like to wiggle the brush through my lashes pretty slowly, repeating until I get the perfect look. If some lashes clump up, I use a lash comb or a spoolie brush to tame the clumps without adding any more product. I have to say…I might like this more than Lash Blast! When I’m not trying any new mascara (if that ever happens), I’ll have to repurchase this for sure!
L’Oreal‘s Voluminous Power Volume Collagen Mascara costs $6.95 and can be found at your local drugstores.

Smashbox Infrared Lipstick (Photos, Swatches, Review)
You all know I’m an orange girl. But, since it’s fall, and winter is soon approaching, I feel the need to get into the holiday spirit with some red lips. I received this way back in March at The Makeup Show LA, but just tossed it in my giveaway pile since I knew I wasn’t a red girl. But, I love this lipstick. I’m so glad I rescued it from the land of misfit giveaway items! 😉
I already have a cheapie red lipstick, which is fine…But the reason I love this lipstick is the fact that it’s matte. It’s flattering and lasts a long time. I don’t want to be at a holiday party reapplying lipstick every few hours! Although I may have to kiss this one goodbye for now, as I haven’t found a way to NOT get lipstick on my new Invisalign…sigh. What’s a beauty girl to do?
Smashbox is a fab brand…cop their goodies at a Sephora near you! I’m thinking I need to try more Smashbox in the future, that’s for sure!

Julep Keira Nail Polish
I’ve been on quite the nail polish blogging kick lately, because although I take pictures of my manicures, I seem to always forget to post them. Now I’m playing catch up and remembering all of my fun nail polishes, yay! I’ve been subscribed to Julep’s Maven program for a while, almost begrudgingly since I keep forgetting to unsubscribe (by phone); but, this month I received this great color, a crackle (reserving for a giveaway) and their drying drops, which are pretty awesome. It had to have been meant to be! This shade, although I was skeptical of it’s similarity to other shades I have, has a lot more purple/brown tones in it than your typical oxblood red…I’m so happy with Keira!
And, I bet you couldn’t tell these were taken on the beach! 😉 I snapped these after an event…but my ring finger chipped during it, so I had to suck it up and photograph it anyway. It’s still a beaut.
Galaxy Nails Without Nail Art Using Butter London “Knackered”
Galaxy nails have been all the rage in the nail art community for quite some time now. I’ve always wanted to try it, but was hesitant to try out all of the sponging of different colors, fearing the possibility of messing up. When I saw Butter London’s “Knackered” as an option for my Coterie order, you bet I sprung on it! And it definitely didn’t disappoint. Just pop one coat of this baby onto a dark colored nail polish, and BOOM! Instant galaxy. The blue to purple duochrome (or blurple?) combined with the holographic glitter makes the perfect cosmic starry night on your nails. I used this to lengthen the wear of my nail polish. I just applied it over my dark color, Essie Stylenomics, after I had worn it for a few days and the edges were wearing a little bit. Try it out! I now want to try this polish over white.
Mesmerizing, huh?
