A few weeks ago I started seeing Maybelline’s Bleached Neons collection popping up in beauty blogs I read. I was super intrigued by the polishes, because I love neons in the spring and summer. I love the concept of bleached neons, because they are almost like neon pastels. In the Bleached Neons collection there are Color Show nail polishes, Color Tattoos, Master Glaze Blush Sticks, Color Whispers, and Color Elixirs. Out of all of the products, the most true-to-form are the nail polishes. I have never tried the Color Show nail polishes, so I just picked up Coral Heat to start with.
Coral heat is a gorgeous neon blend of pink and orange, for sure a unique shade in my collection! As far as the formula goes, they go on a bit streaky at first. You may need 2 or 3 coats, depending on how you apply them. I used 3 coats in these photos! Not the best application, but I thought that this polish lasted so well with my go-to base and top coat combo. I use Orly Bonder & Seche Vite. Coral Heat didn’t chip in the first 3 or 4 days. I only saw a bit of tip wear through that time. Impressive! Nice to know that a “cheap” polish can work just as well as a pricier one when you use the right base & top coat!
I am definitely planning on picking up more of these nail polishes- there are 7 total shades in the Bleached Neons line: Pink Punch, Coral Heat, Bleached in Peach, Citrus Collide, Lime Accent, Day Glow Teal, and Ultra Violet. I think I will pick up all of them besides Pink Punch & Ultra Violet, as I have similar shades in my collection. And at a retail price of only $2.99, you can easily snag all of these shades without breaking the bank! If you want to see a few of the other shades swatched, check out my friends reviews at LVMakeup and Aquaheart’s Obsessions.
