It’s that time of month again where I share what products have been my favorites. Wait, this time it’s different! I decided to change monthly favorites to “Monthly Beauty Reviews” because I try so many products and “favorites” is such a strong word. So, in these videos I’ll share a handful of products I’ve tried in the month and can give a review on- good or bad!
This month I liked pretty much everything I tried- I did a little too much beauty shopping (sometimes a girl can’t resist!), which led to lots ‘o “favorites,” per se.
I’ve been dying to try the BECCA Ultimate Coverage Complexion Crème ($44) since hearing about it’s launch a while back. I have tried and reviewed several BECCA products before like the Shimmering Skin Perfector, One Perfecting Brush, and Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector and have been impressed by each of them, so my standards were high. Thankfully I was impressed! Loving the high coverage, and it lasts very well with primer. I get a bit greasy, so I may try mixing it with their matte primer which I used to use a lot. The only con for me is that it smells like paint, but it doesn’t linger so I don’t mind.
Everything is about ColourPop Cosmetics lately- and I’m all for it. They recently came out with highlighters (and blushes) of course, right after I made my first purchase. So, I picked up Smoke ‘N Whistles & Stole The Show ($8 each) recently and I haven’t been using any highlighter since. The colors look gorgeous and apply so bright- I am all about the more glow the better!
My skin has been in it’s best condition yet, so I am trying to find the best products to keep maintaining it. I was never big on applying moisturizer multiple times a day until trying the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel ($26) after receiving it from Klout. This moisturizer makes skin baby soft but also sinks into skin quickly so us oily-skinned ladies don’t look even greasier. I’d recommend something else or mixing with a more hydrating product like an oil for nighttime, because I don’t think this would be enough moisture.
After I studied abroad, all I could talk about was the Kiko Cosmetics Eyebrow Marker. As my 2 have dried up a bit, I haven’t found a good enough replacement. The Lancôme Sourcils Tint Longwear Eyebrow Marker ($26) is similar, but isn’t as good as Kiko’s. The shades are kind of different, but I dyed my hair a bit darker. This marker has a more flexible tip, but I like the stiffer tip that Kiko’s has. But, it’s a lot more accessible than Kiko is in the states, so I *guess* this will make do.
I’ve been dying to try Boscia’s Luminizing Black Mask ($34) for what seems like YEARS. It’s just a tad expensive…so I saw that Sephora had a Boscia 500 point perk featuring this product and I nabbed it immediately! I haven’t been impressed with Sephora perks in years, so I’m glad I finally caught one. This mask is so worth the hype- I’m sad mine is almost gone after 3 uses! It’s basically a peel-off pore strip for your skin, but in a mask form! It does kinda cling to that peach fuzz, making it a little painful- but the baby-butt soft skin afterward is worth the pain!
Last, but certainly not least we are getting a tad TMI (specifically in the video). I recently got a wax, and the waxer told me that the Bikini Zone product I was using before to prevent ingrown hairs had alcohol in it, which is a definite no no because it dries out and irritates skin! But, the European Wax Center Ingrown Hair Serum ($25) is alcohol free while still preventing ingrowns. I am impressed with it so far- it smells great, doesn’t sting, and has one of my favorite ingredients, Tea Tree Oil. I’ll have a video on my experience at EWC very soon!
I hope you guys like my new format for favorites videos- it’s hard to talk about products I use because a lot of them really aren’t “favorites” or “holy grails,” because, as a product junkie- I rarely use the same products. Don’t forget to share in the comments what products you tried this month!
