A while ago I was sent some samples of the new Garnier Clean + Line, including 2 exfoliators and a cleansing oil. I was sent these from Klout, and while it was definitely not the best perk, it was nice to get a sampling of these products so I could review them for you. While these aren’t the whole of the Clean + products available, these ones are probably the most exciting to me.
Balancing Daily Exfoliator ($7.99): this grapefruit-scented scrub does a great job at softening skin. The granules are both microbeads and another smaller granule, similar to sugar. Grapefruit isn’t my favorite scent, but I didn’t mind this. It’s a combination wash/cleanser, which I like, because you only need a single products!
Blackhead Eliminating Scrub ($7.99): this product is targeted to those suffering with blackheads. It contains charcoal, which is great to absorb oil. It had a lovely cologne-like scent. I liked this one more than the Balancing Daily Exfoliator, but they’re essentially the same product.
Nourishing Cleansing Oil ($7.99): I have tried quite a few cleansing oils, and it was great to see one pop up at the drugstore. But, I hated this. Does it remove makeup? Yes. But, it leaves a gross, greasy white film all over your face. I had to wash twice with another cleanser in order to get rid of it. It may sound good to those with dry skin, in order to stay hydrated, but once I saw mineral oil at the top of the ingredient deck (meaning it is the majority of the product), I was turned-off. Mineral oil is derived from petroleum, causes breakouts, and is in no way a beneficial oil. Avoid this product like the plague! There are many better options out there that have real oils in them.
I’d recommend the scrubs, skip the oil. Take my review with a grain of salt, however, because I only had single-use sample packets to base this review on. You can find these products, along with the other skin-type targeted products at drugstores and other retailers that sell Garnier.
