April’s Birchbox was a fun collaboration with Women’s Health magazine, with the theme “Tiny Tweaks, Big Results.” I thought this was a great theme because this month I’ve been trying to begin a healthier lifestyle- from eating to exercising. Why not do the same with your beauty routine? This box was my last box…for now, just because I feel like I have too many products to try and I’ve been overwhelmed! I did a surprise unboxing on my YouTube channel!
And now onto the reviews!
Nexxus Youth Renewal Rejuvinating Elixir: This hair serum is meant to hydrate and fight signs of aging. I have loads of products to do this, so it wasn’t too exciting, but I will tell you it smells amazing and also makes hair soft and shiny, without the greasiness that I get from applying too much hair oil! The full size is a reasonable $20.99, which would last forever.
LaFace Laboratories PUR Purifying Facial Wash: I’m never too thrilled by skincare samples, just because I don’t think it’s enough to get the full effect of a product. This wash smelled like citrus, which was nice. It came in a tiny jar, which made it hard to use. It had a pretty gooey texture but did the job. It did make my face feel a little tight, so it wasn’t a hit for me. The full size costs nearly $50, no thank you!
Mirenesse Glossy Kiss: I was excited to see a full size lip color in this box. I got a bright red shade, which is always nice, but I would have preferred a spring-ier shade (or orange. always orange). This was feather-light yet still pigmented, so I give this one an A. You can also use these as blushes, which I would for a different color, but not for red! This retails for $26.55- which is crazy for me, this pays for my box twice over. I wouldn’t have purchased this just for the price alone- there are many different variations of this type of product for much cheaper!
Folle de Joie eau de parfum: Everyone hates getting perfume samples, but I don’t mind them! This fragrance, which translates to “overjoyed,” is a scent that reminds me of spring and summer air. Full of sweet floral scents such as orange blossom, white lily, and jasmine. The base has sandalwood, musk, and amber, so it isn’t too floral. I wouldn’t buy this scent, but it is always fun to try a new scent for a few days!
Simple Revitalizing Eye Roll-On: Another full size product! This eye roller contains a serum of de-puffing ingredients. I’ve been using it as an eye gel and even applied it around my brows after tweezing a few stray hairs! This is a winner for me, I love Simple’s makeup remover wipes, so I’ve always been curious about the rest of the line.
This box was such a winner for me; I’m sad to see my monthly Birchbox go, but can’t wait until I can subscribe again!
