NCLA Let Them Eat Cake Review + Nail Polish Canada’s Great Polish Giveaway!

NCLA Duchess of LA Let Them Eat Cake! Review Swatch (2)

NCLA Let Them Eat Cake (Duchess of LA)

NCLA recently launched the Duchess of LA collection, which is a cute little range of pastel glitter shades. I have Let Them Eat Cake, a pastel purple with multidimensional glitter to share with you today. I really love the idea of these cream polishes with glitter in them. It’s such a cool trend. I like Let Them Eat Cake because it’s perfectly opaque in 2 coats, and the glitter comes in different colors and sizes, so it’s essentially instant nail art without the effort!

4th of July Nails feat. Jamberry Nail Wraps in Patriot

4th Of July Nails Jamberry Patriot Nail Wraps Review

Jamberry Patriot Nail Wraps

Happy 4th everyone! Just wanted to pop on here quickly to share what I’m wearing on my nails. I was sent these fun Jamberry Nail Wraps in Patriot a few weeks ago and couldn’t wait to wear them. I just put them on last night while watching Netflix because I’ve been so busy lately! So, today I’m having a relaxing 4th at home. This is the last patriotic holiday I’ll have before studying abroad in Italy in September! Crazy!  Jamberry nail wraps aren’t made of nail polish, they’re vinyl. To apply, I heated the elastic with a hair dryer for about 5 seconds. They applied fine (aside from my pointer finger wrinkling), but I think they are little too thick in texture because they were hard to file down. I can feel them scratching me! Thankfully I’m just wearing them for today, but at least they look nice, right? I liked how they use long strips so you can easily use the same strip for the same nail on each hand, or those with really long nails!

Jamberry nail wraps retail for $15 online.

Hope you’re having a fab fourth! Comment below with what’s on your nails! Did you do any patriotic nail art?

June Favorites (bareMinerals, Face Stockholm, Lancôme, Dazzle Dry, Medicell Labs) | Video

June Favorites Video Medicell Labs Brightening Foaming Face Wash Dazzle Dry Lotion Please Face Stockholm Brow Shadow Myrrah Lancome Definicils Mascara BareMinerals BareSkin Foundation Review

Happy (almost) July! I was in my hotel at VidCon and wanted to film, so I filmed my favorites! I think it turned out nicely because I kind of hate my video background at home, but hopefully that will change soon! I will say I ramble a lot in this video thanks to a caffeine high thanks to Red Bull. But, at least the video is entertaining!

1. bareMinerals bareSkin Foundation – I’ve already posted a blog post and video demo of this amazing foundation. You can really make it work on oily skin, I really love mixing it with Rimmel Stay Matte right now. { bareMinerals bareSkin demo video, bareMinerals bareSkin blog review}

2. Face Stockholm Brow Shadow in Myrrah – I received this in the May Wantable Box that I reviewed and unboxed on my channel. It’s definitely the best product from that box! See it on my brows in the video and in my blog post.

3. Lancôme Definicils Mascara – As I explain in this video, I kind of have a love/hate relationship with this mascara. I’d never buy it because of the price. It makes my lashes look nice, but not $27 nice! Mascaras only differ from the brushes, and I like this one’s brush because it doesn’t get mascara all over my lids.

4. Medicell Labs Brightening Foaming Face Wash – This AHA face wash is great for anyone because it gently exfoliates, has no sulfates, and is a gentle foam. The best part for me is the citrus scent and the tingly fizzling sensation that happens when you apply it. I usually hate foaming face washes, but I love this! It doesn’t do anything for acne, though, so be sure to use spot treatments if you are breaking out like me!

5. Dazzle Dry Nail Lacquer &  3 Piece System – I just posted a full blog post review of Dazzle Dry, so I won’t go too into detail. Polish that dries in 10 minutes and lasts for a week? I’m in! See a clip of my nails on Day 7 in the video!

6.  Mixed Makeup on YouTube- Well produced videos that are easy to watch & entertaining? I’m all in!

7. Bastille’s All This Bad Blood Album- I’m very late on the bandwagon on this one. Great songs on this album (it’s the extended version with 25 songs!) Listen to Flaws, The Draw, Things We Lost In The Fire, and What Would You Do. Those are my current faves.

What were your favorites this month?

Dazzle Dry Nail Polish System & Nail Lacquer Review

Dazzle Dry Nail Polish in Tutti Frutti Smoothie Strawberry Macaron I'm Beachy Lotion Please Blueberry Sno Cone Week in Provence Review Swatch

Dazzle Dry Nail Polishes (Tutti Frutti Smoothie, Strawberry Macaron, I’m Beachy!, Lotion, Please!, Blueberry Sno Cone, Week in Provence)

Dazzle Dry is a nail polish line that promises to dry in 5 minutes and wear like a gel polish, without the UV light! After loving Dazzle Dry’s top coat that I received a sample of in the April Vegan Cuts Beauty Box, I was excited that the brand contacted me and let me know that they have an entire line of stunning shades! I was sent a bunch of gorgeous colors and the Dazzle Dry 3 Piece Nail System, which includes a nail prep, base coat, and top coat. After trying these products I’ve fallen in love! You really need to use Dazzle Dry polishes with the nail system in order for optimal results in my opinion!

Dazzle Dry 3 Piece Nail Polish System Nail Prep Base Coat Top Coat Review

Dazzle Dry 3 Piece Nail Polish System

The Dazzle Dry 3 Piece Nail Polish System contains a nail prep, base coat, and top coat. The nail prep doesn’t seem to do much besides make your nail dry and oil free, similar to using nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol. I apply it with a cotton round and sometimes get lint on my nails, so you definitely need something lint free. The base coat is very liquidy and needs to dry matte before applying Dazzle Dry nail lacquers over it. It’s formulated without nitrocellulose, phthalate, camphor, and formaldehyde. The Quick Dry Top Coat is great for adding amazing shine after applying polish, it is very liquidy, and it really does dry quickly! The set retails for $28.50 and is definitely a must-have if you want to try these polishes, or else they won’t work!

Dazzle Dry Nail Polish in Strawberry Macaron, Tutti Frutti Smoothie, I'm Beachy Review Swatch

Strawberry Macaron, Tutti Frutti Smoothie, I’m Beachy!

The first 3 polishes I have are Strawberry Macaron, Tutti Frutti Smoothie, and I’m Beachy! These 3 are all cream shades, although Tutti Frutti Smoothie acts a bit like a jelly as well. My favorite one of these 3 is definitely Strawberry Macaron, the pale pink is wearable at any time of year! These nail polishes are interesting because they dry matte. You have to apply them over the base coat once it is dry & matte, and then apply a thin layer of polish. After the thin layer I like to do a thicker layer. But, if you need 3 coats I would do 2 thin coats and 1 thick one.

Strawberry Macaron, Tutti Frutti Smoothie, I’m Beachy!- 2 coats & using nail system

I put 2 coats of each polish on my nails, and I used the entire 3 piece nail system to give you the best results. As you can see, they are all very shiny. Depending on how you apply the polish, you may need another coat. Strawberry Macaron looks a bit streaky, but a 3rd coat would make it perfect. The top coat gets rid of the matte look and gives a fabulous shine.

Dazzle Dry Nail Polish in Week in Provence, Lotion Please, Blueberry Sno Cone Review Swatch

Week in Provence, Lotion Please!, Blueberry Sno Cone

The other 3 colors I have are Week in Provence, Lotion Please, and Blueberry Sno Cone. I’m wearing Lotion, Please! right now, actually. It’s probably my favorite one out of this bunch, but I still need to try the rest out! These polishes are creams as well, but Blueberry Sno Cone is jelly-ish as well.

Dazzle Dry Nail Polish in Week in Provence, Lotion Please, Blueberry Sno Cone Review Swatch (2)

Week in Provence, Lotion Please, Blueberry Sno Cone- 2 coats, using nail system

I only had a problem with Week in Provence because the top coat brush made streaks in the polish. I think if I gave more dry time that would not have happened!

I really love these colors, and they last for ages. I have worn Lotion, Please! for a week (maybe even 8 days) with only minimal chipping and 1 or 2 big chips that I just got in the past 2 days. I think I am a Dazzle Dry convert…I just need more colors! A white, nude, black, and other essential colors would be great to have, because they are essentials to any nail collection. These nail polishes are only $9.00 each, which is on par with other brands, but these last longer when you have the nail system. You have to check Dazzle Dry out, I’m surprised I haven’t heard many bloggers talk about them because they are amazing. Now I’m off to scour the website for which shades I want next!
