The winter weather in LA has really been confusing. Some days it’s warm, some days it’s cold, some days it’s both. I’m wondering if we’ll ever really get “winter” here! Regardless, one of my goals for the season was to find an orange sweater. I posted a photo on instagram wearing an orange dress and so many of my friends and followers told me I need to wear orange more. Despite it being my favorite color, I don’t wear it a ton. I’m very monochrome.
I made my way to H&M to try to get my hands on an orange sweater after seeing one that I liked online. Turns out the one that I loved was super scratchy, so I scoured the store for any and every orangey sweater that they carried. I think I tried about 5 sweaters on, ranging from orange, to red orange, to burnt orange. Some were super basic, and some were pretty intricate.
I don’t always fit into H&M, being on the cusp of straight sizing and plus sizing…and, my H&M just got rid of their plus size section, 😑 so, my options were limited. I found this red-orange sweater (which looks more red in the above photo)…and I fell in love. It was only $19.99 too! It has this cool pattern that looks more higher end than just a basic knit (in my unfashionable opinion).
I decided to pair it with some boyfriend/distressed jeans that Torrid sent to me for a different twist. Since it still gets hot here, I don’t have to stay completely covered up. These are a bit big for me actually, but it just adds to the slouchy effect. They’re a bit short on me, but I don’t mind, because sometimes I roll the bottoms up a bit.
Then, for shoes, I picked my favorite Steve Madden Briele shoes that are discontinued…I legit bought the last pair in a size 8 from their site! Although I do love my collection of fitness shoes which I found on shoehero.com, I too love these open-toed mules with a slight heel…I need to find a good replacement, because once I wear these shoes out, I don’t know what I’ll wear!

I need to get back into posting outfits, because I’ve been liking some of my outfits as of late, I just don’t always have someone to photograph me. Let me know in the comments how you’d style this sweater!
