The last shade from Orly’s Hope and Freedom Fest collection that I have is Elation Generation, a sheer strawberry with holographic silver glitter. If you love pinks, you’ll love this one. I’m not a huge pink person, but this shade is very flattering. The more coats you add, the more of a hot pink it becomes, like in my sneak peek swatches. This wasn’t my favorite, but it’s a cool formula. It’s kind of like a jelly finish, because it is very sheer. After 3 coats, I could still see my nail line. You can definitely layer this over your favorite pink polish to brighten it and give it some glitter! This collection will be available online and at ULTA stores for $8, sometime in March! Look out for it!
Orly Melodious Utopia (Hope and Freedom Fest) Swatch
Out of all of the minis from Orly’s Hope & Freedom Fest, this one, Melodious Utopia, gave me the most trouble. This creamy yellow shade has some hidden pinky-gold shimmer that is super hard to capture! I used 3 coats to get it perfect, because I had a lot of issues with streaking. I think this is best layered over your favorite yellow shade just to add the hidden shimmer!
Despite the issues, this color is actually very flattering on the nail. It’s hard to find flattering yellow nail polishes, so props to Orly! You can find these $8 polishes online or at ULTA stores near you sometime in March.
NOTD: Orly Coachella Dweller (Hope & Freedom Fest)
Coachella Dweller is the shade (and name) that first attracted me to Orly’s Hope & Freedom Fest collection for spring 2013. This shade is a light sage green that is a little greyed out, or “dirty” as I like to call it!
As I said in my sneak peek post, Coachella Dweller is pretty sheer. This is 3 coats. And as you can see, it isn’t perfect. I’d probably attribute that to the fact that I have a mini polish, which probably has a sub-par brush compared to the full size.
I am loving this color for spring because it’s not too bright or pastel…pretty fun! Orly nail polishes are available for $8.50 at ULTA. This collection should be out by the beginning of March.

ORLY Hope & Freedom Fest Mani Minis Sneak Peek Swatches
Hello there! Today I have an exciting launch from ORLY to share with you. I stopped by their booth at ISSE to find their entire spring collection, Hope & Freedom Fest, available for purchase! I decided to be a good girl and just grab the mini set, but you can see the other 2 colors on my ISSE post. I didn’t intend on purchasing anything, but after seeing the gorgeous imagery and unique colors I decided it would be a good idea.
This collection has 6 shades total: 2 cream finishes, 2 shimmery polishes, and 2 glitters. I’m missing 2 shades, Peaceful Opposition and Boho Bonnet, which you can find swatches for on ThePolishAholic! Boho Bonnet is a pretty cream blue shade, which is nothing too unique. On the other hand, Peaceful Opposition is an ultra-special sheer white polish that is packed with different shapes of silver glitter.
I was most attracted to Coachella Dweller, just because the name is so awesome to me. It’s a beautiful dirty sage green.
High On Hope is a navy packed with pink shimmer that almost has a yellow shift to it…cool!
Melodious Utopia is a cream yellow with some hidden pink shimmer. It is hard to notice at first!
Elation Generation was probably the least exciting to me. It’s a sheer hot pink with holographic silver glitter.
The thing that I like most about this collection is the promo image and the names of the polishes. I like how these shades are all quite different from one another, and not too many of the same finishes/shades.
Now…onto some swatches!
The first coat isn’t very exciting. They’re all actually pretty sheer actually. I had a ton of problems with Melodious Utopia applying super unevenly…major drag! Coachella Dweller is very watery and needs a solid 3 coats, which was a bummer. The other shades make a good 2 coats.
After two coats, most of the shades are looking pretty good. Melodious Utopia looks very bad because of the huge bald spot line in the middle of my nail.
I had to include a flash shot to show the shimmer in Melodious Utopia, which I found somewhat hard to capture. I’m thinking of maybe layering it over another yellow to prevent all of the streakiness.
The shimmer in Melodious Utopia and High on Hope shows very well in the sunlight!
I will be doing full NOTD’s with these polishes soon! Get excited!
Which shade is your favorite?
ISSE 2013: Nails (Azature, China Glaze, OPI, Orly, and More!)
All of the nail inspiration was probably my favorite part about ISSE. I loved checking out all of the spring collections and learning about products I haven’t heard of before! I’m a huge nail junkie (who isn’t?)…so I was in hog heaven. Have fun browsing my photos, and click on them to make them larger! Click here to see my haul!
I just had to share all of AZATURE‘s diamond nail polishes, including the 6 new colors that have just been released. Their original $250,000 nail polish was there, being protected by a guard! Kelly Osbourne and Jennifer Lopez have worn this nail polish before, and you can get the 1-carat version for only $25.
I’m definitely most excited for ORLY‘s collection for spring, called Hope & Freedom Fest. I can’t wait to share more from this collection, as I got the mini set to test them out! I love the name “Coachella Dweller” and think that these are so fun for spring…and loving the promo image. I want flowers in my hair! FYI the mini sets include Elation Generation, High On Hope, Melodious Utopia, and Coachella Dweller.
Nail art is so fun to me. I loved browsing all of the fun glitters and other things that can be put on the nail such as gold/silver foil, velvet powder, etc.
Who doesn’t love China Glaze? Their nail polishes are affordable but work amazingly. They were on a super sale at the show (6 for $15), so I couldn’t resist picking up a few…including some from the Hunger Games collection!
I also got Rare & Radiant from the Bohemian collection, because it’s a dupe of Chanel’s Peridot…which I regret never getting because Peridot is my birthstone!
I’m a big fan of CND’s Shellac after getting it a few times in the past. Their spring 2013 collection is called “Sweet Dreams” and features adorable pastel shades with a twist. I love the cake pop photo! One of the shades is even named Cake Pop! These were a hit and all of the colors except for the green, Limeade, were sold out by Sunday!
There were gel polishes galore for the manicurists to purchase. I loved all of the shiny bright shades!
Jessica Nails had a fun booth with a holographic floor. I learned about their new system that is a self-curing gel which will cut time for a lot of professionals. Their nail polishes are gorgeous…hope to try them one day!
Other brands you might recognize: Essie, Seche, and OPI were all there as well! I got a pamphlet for OPI’s spring Euro Centrale collection that I will do a new post on soon. I was bummed they weren’t showing it!
Something I thought was fun were these Q-Tickles cuticle oils that had tons of different scents and had little flowers in them.
That’s all that I could possibly capture at ISSE regarding nails…it was such a huge area I couldn’t possibly cover every booth! Stay tuned for my hair, skincare & makeup posts to follow in the next two days!
