A few months ago I got the chance to try out Face Haus, a chain of facial bars with facials starting at $65. Their newest LA location, in USC Village just opened for USC students, neighbors, and DTLA residents to enjoy! I’d compare Face Haus to a dry bar type of experience, because there are no facial rooms, the storefront is just lined with two rows of chairs with facials being done! I didn’t feel weird or uncomfortable in that environment at all, plus, I got to get my facial while listening to Drake’s “In My Feelings,” so it was pretty great…
I received a complimentary Bright Side facial, which aims to fade sun damage and dark spots. Each facial is customized for your skin by your facialist. There are 4 different base facials, a facial specialized for men and teens, and an upgraded $95 microdermabrasion facial designed by Dr. Lancer. You can also get “boosts” including eye, lip, and next treatments, microdermabrasion, or this cool LED treatment called “Beam Me Up!” The products used in the facials are all organic by brands like Eminence Organics.
My facial included cleansing, steaming, toning, light extractions (not over the entire face, just in my problem areas – nose and chin), a mask, a peel, moisturization, spf, and lip balm. All of the products felt and smelled great…the only uncomfortable part was obviously the extractions. But, that’s what makes a real difference for me while getting a facial!
My favorite part of the facial was the peel, which was done with lactic acid (my faaaavorite). The Mangosteen Lactic Pro Peel 10% made my skin feel amazing. So much so that I bought the consumer version of the product on Dermstore the same day!
I was really satisfied with my facial and would definitely go back. My skin looked amazing after, although, a few days after I did experience some light peeling. But, I’m not using a heavy enough moisturizer so I think that’s why!
If you’re LA local and haven’t checked out Face Haus, head to any of their locations including Studio City, WeHo, Santa Monica, and of course, USC Village!
