Today’s Wishlist Wednesday is kind of a spotlight on an entire brand that I’ve stumbled upon called The Lip Bar. The Lip Bar features extremely bright lipsticks with hilarious cocktail-inspired names. They feature a rainbow of colors with beautiful packaging for $20 a tube. The shades that I’m loving are: Bahama Mama, Fuzzy Navel, and Sex on the Beach! All oranges of course 🙂 Their pinks and purples look great as well- and for the bold, they have yellow, green, blue and gray shades! Aren’t they fun?
Tangerine Tuesday #2: MAC Beth Ditto Pro Longwear Lipcreme in “Booyah!!!” Swatches
MAC recently collaborated with singer Beth Ditto to create a fun line with some bold colors, which is just her style! I had my eye on this as well as the orange lip liner (which was sold out when I purchased, but maybe I’ll find it in store sometime)-because you know me….
This orange shade is called “Booyah!!!” which is very interesting, I wonder if it is one of her catchphrases. And why 3 exclamation points? 😀
Here are the ingredients in this product if you are so inclined. I find it pretty hard to find MAC Ingredients lists online, so I like to photograph them whenever possible.
The packaging is a sleek long satin black tube, the same as the lipstick, just a different shape of course! I personally like this packaging, although it will never top the regular lipstick packaging for me.
“Booyah!!!” looks very red-orange, almost bright coral in a way. I see it look differently on different blogger’s swatches, so I figured I’d add mine to the mix. On some it looks coral, some it looks orange. On me, thankfully it does look orange. Just how I like my lipstick. I find these to be quite similar-feeling to NYX soft matte lip creams, but in a much more convenient stick form. Perhaps they have similar ingredients! From wearing this only once, I can tell it is quite long lasting, a claim I almost ignore when getting products because I feel like they never work. Go MAC!
You can find this product at MAC Stores, counters, and online for $17.00. Have you tried one of these Pro Longwear Lipcremes?
Youngblood Summer 2012: Mighty Shiny Lip Gels and Luminous Creme Blush Review and Swatches
Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics’ new summer line is perfect for a carefree day in the sun! Featuring their new Mighty Shiny Lip Gels ($25.50) and Luminous Creme Blush ($27), this line can create an extremely simple makeup look that is gorgeous. This line also includes “Minerals in the Mist,” which I hadn’t heard about, but it looks very nice as well as a facial mist for those hot summer days. I’ve got 2 of the lip gels and one creme blush to share with you today!
The two Mighty Shiny Lip Gels that I received are in Stripped and Displayed. These are super-shiny glosses with some pretty shimmer! I find them to be stickier than what I’m used to, but surprisingly I like it because it makes it last longer! They have 5 other shades- 2 that are catching my eye are exposed (grape) and confessed (watermelon). These colors are sheer and very juicy looking!
Stripped is a clear gloss with multicolored shimmer. I love how this looks in the tube with all of the bubbles! It is gorgeous!
When swatched on the lips, Stripped doesn’t show off too much glitter, which I like. This gloss IS mighty shiny! It’s definitely the most shiny gloss I’ve owned and now I’m obsessed. I love to wear this over my lip stains, which are also perfect for summer!
Next, the lip gel in Display is a red-orange with golden shimmer. I wasn’t sure I would like this one due to the shimmer, but I really like it because it isn’t frosty and overpowering.
Just like Stripped, Display is an ultra glossy gel. This one gives a pretty pink tint to the lips with subtle shimmer throughout. I love to wear this over some of my favorite orange lipsticks!
Youngblood’s Luminous Creme Blush in Pink Cashmere is shockingly the first cream blush I’ve EVER used. Since I have oily skin, I always thought I couldn’t wear cream blushes. The formulation of these are similar to a cream to powder formula, so it isn’t very shiny, which I like a lot! I had another cream blush by them stashed away thinking I couldn’t use it, but now I think these will be a summer essential. I like to layer a powder blush on top of it sometimes for more staying power.
Pink Cashmere is a gorgeous pink color (duh) that is matte, and kind of has some peachy tones on my skin! It is nicely pigmented and really nice. I’m definitely a changed woman when it comes to cream blush, these don’t leave me with a bad taste in my mouth like I thought it would. If only they had a bright orange…YES I’m obsessed! 🙂
And the best part of all, Youngblood is paraben and cruelty-free…so everyone can enjoy their great products without any guilt! 🙂
Let me know if you’ll be picking any of these products up! Trying these products definitely added a few more of their products on my wishlist! Yay Youngblood!

Top 10 Beauty Brands on Pinterest
One of my current favorite pastimes, along with millions of others, is Pinterest. I love to post inspiration of all sorts- home decor, clothing, and of course, beauty. While perusing the internet I’ve found that many beauty brands are on Pinterest, they’re just sometimes harder to find. Here are my current top 10 beauty brand Pinterest accounts, and hopefully you find some new pinners to follow!
Julep– Julep is a great nail polish brand known for their “Maven” monthly box program– They post many color inspiration, sneak peeks of colors, celebrities with julep, DIY, and more. My favorite thing that they post is all on their Color Inspiration board-which include their nail polish colors with a cute collage for inspiration. This board definitely attracts me the most because it’s artsy and not too much like an advertisement, but it still makes me lust over the colors…
NCLA– NCLA is a pretty new brand, but you may have seen it on my Wishlist Wednesday post from a while back. I love their Urban Decay-like vibe in their photography. I love all of their boards that showcase their products because they are nicely photographed and include a lot of nail art! I’m still lusting over their polishes and wraps quite a bit…
Sephora– You can never forget Sephora! It’s pretty much every beauty junkie’s go-to store, right? I love their Instagram, as well as their Nailspotting board. I’ll always love you, Sephora…
Maybelline– Maybelline has some great stuff on Pinterest, I love it! Some of my favorite boards are their NYC board (because I love NYC and can’t wait to be back June 17-22!) along with their Color Show board, which is a great advertisement for their new nail polish line because they pair fashion pieces that match the nail polishes…I’ve been craving these polishes-especially Orange Fix! (You know me and orange…)
Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics– YB is a great cruelty-free beauty line that is definitely an up and coming brand-I’ve had the pleasure to try a few of their products and they’re very good. Their Pinterest features color-inspirations based on their shades (my favorite is Tangelo!), cute animal pictures, blogger love (I’m even in there! so sweet), and much more!
Zoya– Zoya is a really fun nail polish brand- They have giveaways, fan swatches, nail art, and much more. I love to browse their Beach & Surf collections board for summer, because I want all of the colors, as per usual. (Can you guess which one I want the most? I’m so predictable…) They include fun fashion pieces to match the colors as well.
Pop Beauty– Pop beauty is a really fun brand, almost more so on Pinterest. I’ve only had the opportunity to try their nail polish (Nail Glam), but their Pinterest is great. I love how they are very “punny” in their boards and captions, and aren’t too spammy with their products.
OPI Nail– Who doesn’t love OPI? Their Pinterest is so cute because they have specialized boards dedicated to color families-and they even created fun covers for the boards from poured out polish! I had the pleasure of meeting Suzi Weiss Fischmann a few months ago, and she reignited my love for all things OPI.
Bath and Body Works– I’ve loved Bath and Body Works for quite a while (which you can probably see through my YouTube hauls I’ve done…) and their Pinterest is very cute. I am currently obsessed with their Summer Boardwalk board because I pretty much want all of those candles-so I just look at the fun and summery pictures and pretend like I own the candles…haha!
Birchbox– Birchbox is a fun monthly box subscription that I just subscribed to last month, despite wanting it forever; check out my YouTube video about my May Gossip Girl Birchbox! They post ENDLESS inspiration…I don’t even know where to start. I love their lips board, neon/neutral board, and of course the nail board.
Whew! And there you have it, my personal top 10 beauty brands on Pinterest. I do follow a lot more, but I think these brands utilize the site in a brilliant way. Tell me in the comments who your favorite Pinteresting people are! 🙂 Be sure to follow me on Pinterest as well! Happy Pinning!
