(Malin + Goetz) Neroli Candle

November 22, 2017

The past year has made me love and appreciate high end candles. I was a Bath & Body Works queen for yeeearrrss, but as I’ve gotten older I’ve appreciated the art of fragrance much more and finally found my favorite scent- neroli. So, I’m obsessed with neroli everything and am always curious to try any and every product that features neroli…and obviously, share them with you!

You all know I already love the Malin + Goetz candles in Cannabis & Vetiver that I reviewed a few months ago, so I was so excited to try this one, as a neroli obsessive!

For those that don’t know much about neroli, it’s the essential oil from the blossoms of the bitter orange tree. It’s used fairly interchangeably for orange blossom, as it’s the same thing. But, in my experience most products that say orange blossom have more grassy notes, and neroli is more sweet. This could just be in my head, though! I’ve smelled a lot of neroli and orange blossom products in my day…

A few other neroli & orange blossom favorites of mine include Kerstin Florian Neroli Facial Oil, Au Pays de la Fleur d’Oranger Neroli Blanc (aka my signature scent- pictured above!), and Penhaligon’s Orange Blossom fragrance.

Back to the candle – this is probably the only neroli candle I have tried, so of course, I love it. It’s a bit fresher than I like, because I love neroli combined with muskier scents, but I think this candle is perfect for a bathroom or kitchen because it’s just fresh and clean, and not so much of a “sexy” scent like the cannabis candle.

I love these candles because they burn so cleanly- I’ve tried a few new candle brands and have had some huge issues with them burning all the way to the edges of the jar…but not here! They fill the whole room with the scent, and all of the Malin + Goetz fragrances I’ve had are complex and not one-note or cheap smelling. If you’re looking for a new candle – don’t sleep on these ones.

Let me know below – what candle brand should I try next? ✨

Kerstin Florian…Luxury Skincare Products With Neroli

November 11, 2017

I feel like my blog has become such a skincare blog- I’ve been trying so many cool, new to me products and brands such as the Iridesse Skin Care, and have really become obsessed with skincare. I went to a Kerstin Florian event a few years ago and loved the products I tried then, so I was curious to try more, and particularly obsessed with the fact that they have a line of skincare products that feature neroli, my favorite scent in the world. This review is so long overdue, I’m already out of some of these products. But, better late than never, right?

Since many of you are probably new to the brand, Kerstin Florian is a luxury skincare line that focuses on results. Kerstin Florian herself, along with the line, are born and raised in Sweden. There’s a huge emphasis on wellness, and the brand has a holistic approach to fixing skin concerns, while still providing quality and luxury.

The Rehydrating Neroli Facial Oil is my number one pick from the line. This luxurious oil not only smells amazing, but features oils like jojoba, sea buckthorn, and argan oil to nourish the skin. Don’t forget that us oily-skinned people can use oils too…in fact, I prefer them. This one made my skin baby smooth that flows with Newborn Clothes, I ran out of it super quickly. It’s also multi-use…try it on your nails/cuticles and hair!

Rehydrating Neroli Water is my kind of facial spray…it’s simple, because it’s just neroli/orange blossom water- but it’s unlike any cheaper options I’ve tried. It smells amazing and is super refreshing. Don’t mistake these for makeup setting sprays, this is just a refreshing spritz to make you feel good. But, spraying on any sort of spray after applying powder does help make your face look less powdery or cakey!

The Neroli Blossom Bath & Body Oil is another favorite. I like applying this all over after a shower- I typically wear long sleeves and pants and let it absorb into my skin before going to bed. Again, it smells amazing and makes you baby soft. I’ll have to try it in a bath next! This one is a bit different than the facial oil, as it uses sunflower seed and coconut oils, as well as rosemary extract.

Lastly, I tested out the Spirulina Mask, which was the only product I didn’t love. It has a lot of algae in it, which to me, made it smell bad, but it did make my skin feel amazing after using. This mask is a nutrient boost for dull skin, and the algae and kelp used helps improve circulation and collagen production. It did make my skin feel super soft, it just doesn’t smell pretty!

This is only a taste from the line, and I definitely have a few more products on my wishlist from them, and, since everything I’ve tried has impressed me- I’m bound to find a few more favorites!

Au Pays de la Fleur d’Oranger Neroli Blanc Intense Eau de Parfum Review

Beauty Habit Au Pays de la Fleur d'Oranger Neroli Blanc Intense Eau de Parfum Review
Au Pays de la Fleur d’Oranger Neroli Blanc Intense

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you know I’m a huge fan of anything orange blossom scented. Last year at Cosmoprof I discovered the French fragrance brand Au Pays De La Fleur D’Oranger, they’re available at Beauty Habit in LA and online! I sampled a few of their fragrances from their Neroli Blanc collection, but the one that really stuck out to me was the Neroli Blanc Intense. I got it for Christmas and since then it’s become my signature scent!

Neroli Blanc Intense is a blend of orange blossom, Sicilian bergamot, mandarin, rose, jasmine, candied fruit, and sandalwood. It’s both sweet & sophisticated. It’s not too grassy like a lot of orange blossom scents can be.

I like this fragrance especially because lately I haven’t been a fan of wearing more mainstream fragrances that everyone would have. I get a ton of compliments when I wear this one! It’s available in two sizes, 50 ml ($75) or 100ml ($98). I noticed on their website they even have an orange blossom candle- which I’m dying to try. If you like orange blossom scents, definitely check this one out- I’m obsessed!

L’Occitane Néroli & Orchidée Scented Candle Review | Fragrance Friday

May 9, 2014

L'Occitane Neroli & Orchidee Scented Candle Review
L’Occitane Néroli & Orchidée Scented Candle

I recently had the opportunity to try the newest scent from L’Occitane, Néroli & Orchidée. This scent pairs orange blossom and white orchid to create a gorgeous and girly spring scent. This is definitely my favorite scent I’ve tried from L’Occitane! I’ve really loved burning this candle in the spring time. Good thing that it comes in a perfume and other body products! I love the combination of the citrusy aspect with the floral notes to create a sophisticated scent that doesn’t come off too mature. The candle burns cleanly & makes my entire bedroom smell like a luxurious spa. This candle is supposed to last 30 hours, and I’ve been using it as sparingly as possible so I don’t run out too soon! But at least when it runs out I will have a gorgeous glass jar to store something in! I have a tiny deluxe sample size of this fragrance, and I love it so much (more on that soon) that I wish I had the full size!

L’Occitane Néroli & Orchidée Scented Candle can be found online and at L’Occitane boutiques for $30- definitely not a cheap candle, but it isn’t too pricey as far as candles go. If you’re shopping at L’Occitane don’t forget to pick up their Almond Shower Oil. It’s my absolute favorite product from them, which I don’t have a review on unfortunately! I ran out of it a long time ago, but I love that product so much I just had to mention that!

MOR Cosmetics Neroli Clementine Salt & Sugar Body Scrub Review

November 22, 2012

MOR Cosmetics Neroli Clementine Body Scrub

This body scrub is the yummy match to the body lotion I raved about yesterday. I grabbed this duo from Coterie for $28, when the retail price of this product alone is $22! I typically like to make homemade body scrub, but since it came in a duo, I was excited to try this just for the scent. The scent is a lot more floral to me, compared to the body lotion, so I actually enjoyed the scent a lot more!

Back Ingredients

Unfortunately I ran out of the 21.5 oz scrub fast, thanks to my sister who likes to steal my products in the shower! I wouldn’t purchase this just for the fact that I’d run out so quickly, but it was great to try it. The combination of salt and sugar are great for exfoliation and the scent is heavenly. One thing I’ve noticed compared to both homemade and other body scrubs I’ve purchased is that this scrub doesn’t leave an oily residue! HOORAY! That’s the number one thing that would make me recommend this scrub, if you do not like to make your own scrubs! It makes your legs silky smooth in a matter of minutes!

The oil does rise to the top, as most scrubs do, but with a quick stir it is back to the perfect consistency. If you are on the hunt for the perfect body scrub with a heavenly scent, check this baby out!
