Months ago I had heard about L’Oreal’s take on micellar water, a riff off of the cult favorite Bioderma that I reviewed not too long ago. Micellar water is a great makeup remover that is ultra-gentle, because it feels just like water. I ran out of makeup wipes here in Italy, and found this in my grocery store, so I picked it up for about €6,50. I like to use it with these soft cotton pads that I found here to remove my makeup gently. I only use this to remove face makeup, because I find that an oil-based makeup remover does a better job at removing mascara for me. Within a month I’ve used about 2/3 of the bottle, so it definitely doesn’t last long for me. But, I would repurchase it because it does do a great job, as my skin has been near-perfect in Italy. If you’re in Europe you’ll definitely want to pick this one up.

Pupa Milano Lasting Color Gel Glassy Effect Nail Polish in Amber Shine Review
I didn’t bring any colored nail polishes with me to Italy, so after the first week of having no nail polish on I was in desperate need of a manicure! I found this Pupa Milano nail polish in a boutique and thought the brand looked nice, and this coral color was definitely up my alley. So, I picked it up and was off to paint my nails that night!
Excuse the horrible manicure, but I have limited resources out here, so I can’t fix my messes! This nail polish was fully opaque in 2 coats and dries to a super shiny finish. I thought the rounded edge brush was hard at first, but it does help apply the polish well. The most exciting thing for me was that it lasts very well. I wore this for quite a while before it had any major chips, all of my nails just had a little bit of tip wear for a few days. I would definitely purchase more of these polishes and am now even more curious about Pupa’s entire makeup line!
Italian Beauty Haul: Kiko Cosmetics | Video
I was very excited to start hauling some European beauty products once I arrived in Florence, and now, 3 weeks later, I finally did! I stopped into Kiko Cosmetics, which I’ve heard a lot of great things about, and picked up a few necessities (and a few random ones as well). Kiko is an Italian line, based in Milan. Their products are around drugstore prices, so I was able to get a good deal on all of these items!
I picked up the following products:
- Water Eyeshadow #200 Champagne (€5,90)
- Eyebrow Marker #3 Bionde Fragola e Rosse (€5,90)
- Full Coverage Concealer #2 Naturale (€7,50)
- Invisible Powder (€11,90)
- Precision Lip Liner #302 Rosa Naturale (€4,20)
Although I haven’t had the time to do a full-on first impressions video, I’ve been trying these products out and I really like them. Instead of the first impressions, I think I am going to film a review and tutorial video sometime this weekend to post within the next 2 weeks!
Thanks so much for being patient with me while I’ve been gone, getting accustomed to my life in Florence- but now I’m back and hopefully better than ever!
