The Fourth of July is rapidly approaching, and I always try to come up with fun holiday beauty ideas. This year, I picked a few products that range from tasteful to “tacky.” Regardless of which route you go, you will be showing off your American pride…which is what matters, right? These products will be perfect for anyone going to a simple barbecue, parade, or even a full on night on the town.
1. Love a statement lip in an untraditional color? Inglot Pacific Blue Lipstick Collection includes 6 blue shades that are the perfect compliment to a patriotic outfit.
2. This is for the gals that don’t like to look like a flag threw up on them. Lime Crime Eye Liner in Lunar Sea is a white liquid liner that is easily paired with a red or blue accent. Line your lids, do a little wing, and you’re good to go.
3. Were you born with glitter running through your veins? Try Eye Kandy Glitter Sprinkles in Candy Apple, Marshmallow, & Razzle Berry. You can do a body glitter tattoo, lip glitter, or keep it simple with some glitter eyeliner. You can even get fancy and do a red-white-blue gradient eyeliner.
4. A bold red lips is easily the most classic and wearable 4th of July look. I love Smashbox Matte Lipstick in Infrared because it is a blue-red that is truly matte and will last long.
5. Colored mascara is a great way to inject a bit of extra color into your look. The NYX Color Mascara in Blue shows up well on lashes, but isn’t too blue and ridiculous. Imagine this paired with white liner and red lips- perfect!
6. My favorite way to celebrate the 4th is with festive nails. Last year I loved Julep America The Beautiful Nail Polish because it has red and blue glitter with silver stars, so you don’t need to do any nail art over it!
7. I’m a big fan of nail wraps, and just got these Jamberry Patriot Nail Wraps in the mail. This is what I’ll be wearing on the 4th! I’ll be sure to post a photo of them on my instagram @oliviafrescura! I love how there are different designs for mix-and-match nails.
8. The American Flag by Violent Lips are a very bold statement. They are lip tattoos after all! I did a post on them 2 years ago, but they were really hard for me to apply and remove. I’ll have to put them to the test again, because practice makes perfect!
I think I may keep it simple this year with the Jamberry Nail Wraps and subtle makeup with a pop of red or blue. What will you be rocking to your festivities?
