If you caught yesterday’s blog post you know that I am working with Pantene to bring you a fun holiday hairstyle. I’m pretty simple with my hair so I opted for some easy curls since I haven’t curled my hair since having it cut & colored at Vertigo Salon. I am going to show you the few steps it takes to get this look using GIFs! How fun- I am totally new to making GIFs but I decided to try it out because I had made video clips of applying these hair products so I can screenshot it for photos, but I think that GIFs look so much better! Let me know what you think!
To prep my hair, I used the Pro-V Heat Shield Shampoo & Conditioner in the shower. These products contain heat-activated oils to protect hair from heat up to 450 degrees- perfect for styling! I have really greasy hair, so although they made my hair soft, it still got greasy pretty fast (as it does with every.shampoo.ever.)
After showering, I put some of the Silky Moisture Whip in my damp hair to make it super soft. I am really loving this product- it looks like whipped cream! (I would have GIF-ed application, but it was a bit messy and awkward to film!)
After I let my hair air dry it was time to get into the styling! I first applied Pantene Heat Protection Spray to protect my hair from the heat (I guess doubly so since the shampoo did as well!). I recently ran out of my heat protecting spray so I was glad to get a new one, and I like this one so far!
After letting that dry- it’s time to get to styling! I am using my Cortex 4-in-1 curling wand that I’ve reviewed & demo-ed in the past. I curled all of my hair in small sections, away from my face. I love this curling wand- it’s amazing! I definitely recommend it- you can even get the curling wand on Amazon!
It takes a while to curl all of my hair, but once that is finally done I like to separate the curls by running my fingers through my hair. This really makes a difference in my opinion because it looks more natural!
After my style is complete I lock it in with hairpsray. I used Pantene Extra Strong Shaping Hairspray– I use quite a lot because my hair doesn’t hold curls too well! I have so many hairsprays, I don’t really prefer one over the other…but this one does the job!
And last but not least, to give some added shine and get rid of any frizz I applied Advanced+ Keratin Repair KeraGloss Oil Mist. I like this light oil mist because it doesn’t weigh down dry hair. I usually like to apply oils to wet hair, but this spray makes it convenient any time. Not crazy about the smell, though! It makes my hair super soft & shiny!
And it’s easy as that! Soft & silky curls for a great price, thanks to Pantene!
I’m definitely going to be recreating this look a lot throughout the holiday season because it’s so simple and looks great! Let me know what you think in the comments!
