Birchbox put together February’s box with upcoming awards shows in mind. The theme was Red Carpet Ready, the same as Ipsy‘s this month. I really liked this box because they had all of my beauty bases covered: makeup, hair, skin, and nails. Plus, a bonus chocolate treat!
Lancôme La Base Pro (primer): I have actually never tried anything from Lancôme before, so I was really excited to get this. This primer is a clear silicone-feeling primer that left my foundation matte for most of the day. At the end of the day I did find that I looked dewy, but it wasn’t in an unattractive way.
Vasanti BrightenUp! Enzymatic Face Rejuvinator: This product is an exfoliant that uses microderm crystals that are super-fine and not too abrasive on the skin. I don’t like to get too many skin samples, but this one I liked since you can’t go wrong with exfoliants. It doesn’t have too much of a scent, either.
Miss Jessie’s Original Pillow Soft Curls: This product is a styling lotion that promises curls without the crunch. It smells like fabric softener, which at first I wasn’t crazy about, but it doesn’t last in your hair. I find that this is great to give gentle curls to the hair, playing off the natural texture. So, if you have straight hair, it wouldn’t work. Since my hair has some waves in it, it worked well. I even put it in braids when it was damp to add extra curls!
Color Club Nail Polish in Wild Cactus: This nail polish is very on trend this year, because emerald is the color of the year! Color Club nail polishes are great, so I’m a fan of this. I love getting nail polish in my boxes!
There was a little bonus- a Ghirardelli Milk & Caramel chocolate! Those are actually one of my favorite chocolates, so it was a nice bonus treat!
Overall I really liked this box. If you get a Birchbox, what was in yours? I just purchased a few things with my points on the Birchbox shop, so those will be featured in my March subscriptions video!
