For Christmas I got this awesome Cortex curling iron set, and I love it. It’s a curling wand that has 4 different sizes that you can use, so it saves so much space! It can give you any curls you want…from Shirley Temple ringlets to Victoria’s Secret bombshell curls! This was purchased for $70 on Amazon, but there are other places you can get it for different prices! Check out how I curl my hair with this iron, using the second largest barrel, the 1 1/4 inch.
Right now I’m using my Joico products to curl my hair and I’m liking it. I will have individual reviews of the products after I’ve used them longer!
I typically use the 2 largest sizes because I like looser curls, not ringlets. But, I will experiment with the smaller ones eventually! I don’t curl my hair as often as I’d like to, just because I have so much hair (it takes FOREVER). My hair doesn’t keep curls too well, so it will last me less than 24 hours. I will be cutting my hair soon so hopefully I can curl my hair better!
I received this mascara in one of my Birchboxes and I was pretty excited to try it, because I love getting mascaras! LashXtend is a fiber mascara that will physically lengthen your eyelashes (temporarily of course) as well as volumize. I typically find that fiber mascaras only lengthen for me, but a good tip is to use a fiber mascara and then use a volumizing mascara afterwards for a faux falsies result.
As you can see on my lashes, it’s nice and does add length to my lashes, but has virtually no volume. For $24 (on birchbox), I’d skip this mascara because you can find better options at the drugstore.

If you’re looking for some makeup removing wipes, check out Simple. These wipes are great for removing all of my makeup in mere minutes and have no greasy residue afterward! I’m big on using makeup removing wipes, just because it’s easiest for me. A package of 25 wipes will only set you back about $5 at Target. With these wipes, removing makeup is simple! (Couldn’t resist that pun)
Brows are important…and Urban Decay knows it! With UD’s handy brow box you can shape and fill your brows to your heart’s content. I like to use the lighter shade on the right on the front end of my brows, and then use the darker shade to fill in the arch and tail of my brows. I then use the wax in the bottom drawer to set my brows in place. This has been my favorite brow kit for all of 2012. It’s just the best!
I really like the natural but clean look I get using this beauty. And it’s only $29…which actually isn’t much considering you’re getting 2 different brow powders along with a ton of wax! This is one of the products I’d say you NEED.

If any of you are like me and love to watch tons of videos about beauty, I have a new place for you! Marlay Drive is a new place for you to learn everything beauty in one place. They have different experts for nails, hair, and makeup who each have their own YouTube channels and produce videos weekly. The thing that I love about their videos is that they are extremely high quality and edited very well, which is something I would love to replicate in my own videos. They have a studio in L.A. where they film, which is awesome. Their website is a place to find all of their new videos, along with the upcoming episodes air dates (which you won’t typically find anywhere else). I think one of my favorites to watch is Lynette, who does nails. Here is one of her videos:
