Grab $60 of Julep for $33 on Coterie

Julep is an awesome brand of polish that I’ve raved about before…so if you all haven’t had the chance to try them, check them out on Coterie. You can pick 3 shades with the addition of either their base coat or drying drops (I’d choose drying drops) for only $33. They only have a few shades available, and they’re all perfect for fall. So, if you’ve wanted some Julep goodies…head over to Coterie! I won’t be purchasing because I’m a member of their Julep Maven program, but the ones they are selling are gorgeous too.

Youngblood Crushed Mineral Blush in Sherbet (Photos, Swatches, and Review)

Youngblood Sherbet Crushed Mineral Blush

In October, Youngblood is donating a portion of the proceeds of their crushed mineral blushes to charity (more info here). So, before October ends I wanted to quickly review this blush for you guys if you’d like to purchase this and help charity at the same time. This shade, called Sherbet, is a peachy pink.

As I’ve said before, I don’t like loose blushes too much, because I just don’t reach for them. But, if you love mineral products, you’re in for a treat!

Youngblood Sherbet Crushed Mineral Blush Swatch

Sherbet is a pretty peachy shade with a slight golden shimmer. It looks great on the cheeks and not too frosty or shimmery. I definitely prefer this color over Tulip! If you want a new blush, go grab this one online before October is over and help Breast Cancer Awareness!

Youngblood Crushed Mineral Blush in Tulip (Swatches, Photos, Review)

Youngblood Tulip Crushed Mineral Blush

In October, Youngblood is donating a portion of the proceeds of their crushed mineral blushes to charity (more info here). So, before October ends I wanted to quickly review this blush for you guys if you’d like to purchase this and help charity at the same time. This shade, called Tulip, is a light sparkly pink.

Youngblood Tulip Crushed Mineral Blush

Youngblood uses really nice sifters that dispense out a good amount of product: not too little and not too much. The only gripe I have is that the sifter is flush with the top of the jar, so if you have any additional product in the lid or on the top, you’re going to make a huge mess!

Tulip Crushed Mineral Blush Swatch

This blush is pretty frosty, so I was pretty intimidated to try it. Thankfully it doesn’t show up that frosty on the cheeks. To me, it just has the slightest glow, and any glitter that may be in it can be blended away for a soft pink flush. Honestly, pink isn’t my color, so I don’t reach for it often, but it works for those that love pink.

LA Fashion Week: Backstage with Jouer Cosmetics for J. Mendel

Jouer Cosmetics for J. Mendel (Face Chart)

I was invited backstage to check out Jouer Cosmetics’ look for J.Mendel’s LA Fashion Week show, the Autumn Party. I met their makeup artist, Julie Morgan, who shared her face chart and spilled on some of the products used to achieve this bare beauty look, inspired by raw/unpolished beauty. She used their new & revolutionary Matte Moisture Tint, using their cream tints in bare and poppy to accentuate the cheeks and lips. The eye look was super simple with some creamy eyeshadows in suede and feather, with a thin liquid shimmer eyeliner in sable on the upper lash line. Check out the gallery below to see behind the scenes backstage along with the finished looks on the runway!

Jouer Cosmetics’ LA Media Breakfast

Hey beauties! I feel like I haven’t blogged in forever. :( But, a few weeks ago I went to this great event for Jouer Cosmetics, so I just wanted to post some of my photos from it and give you a sneak peek of what they are launching soon. I have already tried some Jouer products, from my sneak peek blog post- but now I have more to share! I met a lot of awesome bloggers and had a great breakfast learning about their fall collection and launch into Nordstrom Santa Monica.

Good Morning, Gorgeous!

The event was hosted at Tavern restaurant, which was a beautiful place! The table was strewn with cute place cards that said “Good Morning, Gorgeous,” along with other cute sayings, Jouer mini samples (first picture), and vintage teacups with flowers!

Then, as we enjoyed some yummy breakfast, we heard founder and creative director Christina Zilber chat about the brand and their new products for fall/winter. Christina designed Jouer to be a “no makeup artist” line, so anyone can easily use their products. If you don’t know any French, Jouer means “to play,” which is an awesome name, I’d say! Brings me back to me high school French class days…You may already know Jouer because of their Illuminating moisture tint- an award winning product with micro-pearl pigment. But, their new Matte Moisture Tint is revolutionary because it’s light and sheer instead of heavy like other matte foundations. I have the Matte Moisture tint and I really love it, but that’s all I’ll say, since I need to do a full review on it in a separate blog post!

Next, Christina told us about Jouer’s fall Bare Beauty Collection, which includes a nude lip gloss, shadow trio, cheek tint, and their shine removing balm. This kit will retail for $58, which is great for 4 full-sized products. They are also launching a Nordstrom-exclusive pochette, a hot pink suede wristlet that will hold a lip gloss, a smartphone, cards/money, and more…and there is a detachable bracelet! It’s adorable for any holiday party you’ll be going to this season. The pochette retails for $75 and will be available in November at Nordstrom in store and online.

Bare Beauty Kit, Pochette, Matte Moisture Tint, and Sparkle & Pop Holiday Favor

For holiday, they’re launching their own holiday party favor, called Sparkle & Pop! It is inspired by New Years favors for kids. The favor includes 5 holiday goodies: champagne bubbles, a ring, a fortune, a noise maker, and a mini Jouer sample. These will retail for $12, or  4 for $42 for you to gift to all of your New Years Eve party guests! This will be available in November, also!

So that was the event! It was really fun, and I’m super excited to play (pun intended) with Jouer!
