This is long overdue, but I’m an official college graduate! On June 16th, tons of FIDM students, faculty, and family trekked to Staples Center in Downtown LA to watch us graduate. For those wondering, my degree is an Associates of the Arts in Beauty Industry Merchandising and Marketing. My education means a lot to me because it is so specialized, I also want to give thanks on vce tutors melbourne for teaching and guiding me in every academic situations, And now I am prepared to work in the beauty industry- which I wouldn’t have discovered if it wasn’t for YouTube or blogging. A month ago I posted a conundrum I had about what dress to wear…the funny thing is, I wore none of the dresses I had chosen. Everyone recommended a peplum dress from ASOS which was sold out. So, when I went shopping at H&M I found a similar dress, and I loved it. Check out the little gallery below for some personal photos including my personalized mortarboard, the dress, the graduation, etc.! Congrats to everyone else who graduated as well!

Olivia,
I have recently began considering the degree of Beauty Industry Merchandising & Marketing… I've looked for tons of reviews on graduates from this program and have found very few. The only ones I seem to find are the glamourous ones featured on "FIDM" blogs and forums. I want the real deal information on the program from an actual graduate! What type of industry career are you looking to find with this particular major? Has FIDM's career department been helpful to you with internships and possible job opportunities. I have worked retail in the beauty industry for the last two years and absolutely adore it. I really see myself working in the corporate aspect of beauty in the future. I'm sort of stuck on where to go for schooling and such… Any advice from you would be lovely.
Thanks so much,
Monique

Hi Monique! I'm looking for a corporate cosmetics job through my career- I'm doing a lot of social media right now, so that is marketing, but I do want to get into different areas and experiment with product development and fragrance! I haven't had much help from the career center, probably because I didn't visit it much. You have to visit it often for them to want to help you. I got more help on job leads through teachers. I do really like my degree but I feel like I don't like that it's just an A.A. degree. FIT in New York has a program that goes all the way up to a masters, but, a lot of people say that FIDM's AA is equivalent of a bachelors at other schools…but I'm not sure I believe that. Let me know if you have any more questions! Hope that helps!
