Sindulge Launch Event: February 22, 2012

This past Wednesday I attended an awesome event for Sindulge– a new beauty sample box (well, bag) that is a cut above the rest that are already out. What makes Sindulge different is their hands-on approach to custom beauty packages. Sindulge features video consultations and demonstrations- how awesome is that? I can definitely eat that up, since I do YouTube videos! I decided to do a little follow me around video of my Wednesday, because it was a busy one. I was at the YouTube Beverly Hills offices for a Workshop, so the day was an adventure for me. I had a ton of fun meeting many new faces at this event- so definitely check out Sindulge! It’s $12 a month.

Here’s what a typical bag may look like (aka our goody bag)- although I did forget to photograph 1 product- an eyeliner from Me Cosmetics because I decided to put it in a raffle for a school event my class is doing.

Pop Beauty Nail Glam Polishes in Tangerine Taste & Pink Popsicle

I snagged 2 of these because I got an extra bag to give to my mom, but I only kept the polish out of that one :). I also got my nails done at the event, in the orange color, Tangerine Taste. I will have a separate post with swatches in the future!

I also got a few extra goodies at the event!

Beyond excited to try out this Youngblood Lipstick in Tangelo. I LOVE ORANGE! (I saw this first on BEAUTEZINE and nearly fainted from the awesomeness!). I will have a separate blog post on this, with swatches!

Youngblood lipgloss in Pink Hope-  it’s for breast cancer, and it’s gorgeous!

What is this, you ask? This is a Paw Palette! My new friend that I met at the event- Makeup Artist Crystal, has  invented this handy palette to use so applying makeup to clients, or even yourself, is more clean and sanitary than ever!

That just about covers it, this was definitely a beauty event for the books!

February My Glam Bag

My Glam has been a very popular sample bag lately, and I’ve been getting it since December. I really like the service, but of course there are some hiccups along the way for this new company. This month I wasn’t extremely impressed with, but I still like the bag nonetheless.

Here is what came in the bag:

1. Ghirardelli chocolate samples (milk and dark)

2. Premier Dead Sea Samples

3. NYX Roll On Shimmer (Full Size)- mine was in GREEN. Not a fan!

4. X OUT Shine Control (Full Size)

5. Freeman Facial Hydration Mask (Goji Berry) (Sample Size)

6. NuMe $100 Gift Certificate- only allowed to be used on hair styling tools and hair extensions.

I’m keeping this service because I do still like the bags,  because they have a great value compared to the $10 we pay.

Here is my video I posted about the bag:

Do you get a Glam Bag?

Indie Lee Natural Skincare Samples

I had the pleasure of meeting Indie when she was a guest speaker at my school. After hearing her story, I was super excited to try out her products! We got a few mini samples from her, but eventually I plan on getting more! Indie Lee‘s products are 100% natural, and she means it, unlike many other products in the beauty world!

The products I got were: Lemongrass, Carrot, and French Clay Cleansing Bar and the Lavender Moisturizing Oil.

If you want to hear more about Indie’s story, check out this beautiful video!

Now, here’s a little about the products:

Lemongrass, Carrot, French Clay Cleansing Bar ($6): This product is really nice. It has a light citrusy smell with a hint of carrot (with carrots inside!). I find that this leaves my face squeaky clean and that  my skin can retain moisture better after using it. To use, I break off a small piece and lather it under warm water, and then I scrub my face and rinse. I definitely want to grab another bar, possibly the Tea Tree Aloe bar for my acne.

Lavender Moisturizing Oil ($28): This is a great oil to use after a nighttime bath to moisturize and relax before bed! It is moisturizing without being too greasy and has a pleasant smell. This is a very luxurious product to me! The vanilla citrus scent looks yummy!

That about wraps up my first thoughts about Indie Lee, hope you enjoyed!

Fragrance Friday: DKNY Sweet Delicious

Donna Karan DKNY Sweet Delicious Collection

Donna Karan (DKNY) is launching her spring line of perfumes to attach to her famous “Be Delicious” fragrances. The DKNY Be Delicious line has launched around 10 fragrances thus far. For spring, the collection is comprised of 3 fragrances: Pink Macaroon, Tart Key Lime, and Creamy Meringue.Inspired by cupcakes, this is bound to be a deliciously sweet collection! I think this collection is an awesome idea! These perfumes are cute little pastels and even come with a recipe for their inspired cupcake! How adorable!

DKNY Sweet Delicious Pink Macaroon

Pink Macaroon is inspired by those beautifully expensive french almond confections. It includes top notes of nectarine and kumquat, middle notes of pomegranate and rose marzipan (rose + almond paste), and base notes of amber and tonka. I think it is an interesting concept for perfume and I am a fan of macarons as well. The only thing that peeves me is that I prefer to call them macaron’s because macaroons are coconut. Oh well.

DKNY Sweet Delicious Tart Key Lime

Tart Key Lime is inspired by the cool and refreshing qualities of key lime pie. It’s top notes consist of tart key lime pie, bergamot, mandarin, and orange. The middle notes include basil, ginger, and neroli. Lastly, the base note is violet leaf. I think having basil in it is bound to be very interesting. I used to have a hand soap from Bath and Body Works that featured both lime and basil, so I am sure it will be a great fresh scent.

DKNY Sweet Delicious Creamy Meringue

The last scent, Creamy Meringue is surely inspired by a lemon meringue pie. The top notes blend lemon cream, bergamot, and crepe Suzette. If you don’t know, crepe Suzette is a sweet and citrusy crepe that is flambeed with liqueur. The middle notes have freesia, frangipani, and passion flower. The base notes have cedar, white amber and musk. This one looks interesting but I don’t think I’d like it.

You can find DKNY Fragrances at Macy’s, Sephora, etc. and will likely cost $42-$75 depending on the sizing. I’m excited to find these in stores so I can smell them and possibly get a sample. I am not on the market for a new perfume, but samples are my most favorite thing ever!

Would you try out any of these fragrances? Let me know what you think in the comments!
